Do you need the Driver CPC qualification?
If you want to drive a goods vehicle over 3.5 tonnes or a passenger vehicle with more than eight seats professionally you need a Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
If you passed your car test before January 1997 then you have acquired rights to the Initial Driver CPC qualification. But you are required to undertake 35hrs Approved Driver CPC training every five years to maintain your qualification. New LGV or PCV drivers need to successfully complete Modules 2 & 4 with DVSA and then undertake 35hrs Approved Driver CPC training every five years to maintain their qualification.
